A consistent prayer life is essential to grow in a strong relationship with God. Regular prayer times are necessary for all of us to calm down and refocus our energies away from the world and to look toward God. It is especially important to start children early so that they form a habit of regular prayer.
Use the Quick links at left to select the Catholic prayer that your child will need to learn. The catechists will spend some time reviewing these prayers, however, they cannot do it alone. Please work with your children to help them experience, memorize, and understand the importance of these prayers. We have included these prayers here to ensure that all students are learning the same version that will be used in classroom recitation.
Prayer is not limited to these rote prayers, but they do provide a starting place. Parents need to continue to enhance their children's prayer lives with family devotions, prayers before meals, morning and evening prayers, etc. Creating prayer time and space for family and individuals will be very beneficial as the children grow and mature in their faith.
